Drifters - Originally a mining term for temporary workers who drifted into the mines for work but never lasted long. The phrase has spread wider on the frontier and is often also used on the Ranches near the border too. Drifters can still mean a temporary worker, it can also mean someone who is in over their heads, or someone just passing through without staying.
“Say is she serious about pulling a full shift? or is she just a drifter?” “Her? naw, she’s not from here, just another Drifter heading to Droaam” “You listen in to what the Sargent is saying or you’ll be another drifter when it happens for real!
Cricks - A derogatory term used throughout Breland to refer to the Citizen of Sharn. Its used by country folk because the Citizens of Sharn have to “Crick their necks to see the skies!“. Being called a Crick infers you know nothing of country life, it implies softness and an inability to look after yourself outside of the big cites.
Caw Jeb, you see tha’ fella in the glamourweave? I ain’ never seen such a crick in my days. E’we looking at Gil’s Tribex like it wer gon sprout wings
Triboy - A hired man, especially in the frontiers, who tends Tribex and performs many of his duties on Tribex back.
